PR WEEK’S COVER DESIGN CONTEST: LET’S CELEBRATE WOMEN
For the first time in PRWeek's U.S. history, the magazine turned over the cover design of their April issue to agency and in-house creatives. The theme was: create an imaginative and compelling cover that celebrates the inspiring women everywhere that are raising their voices and exerting their influence to make real change happen.
Immediately we thought of shoes…many shoes! Our concept began simply as an idea, that turned philanthropic, and ultimately a collaborative and rewarding experience. Shoes do not define race, religion, beauty, body image or sexual orientation, but they are a metaphor to the
many steps women have taken to create change, power movements, and make their voices heard to gain equality and respect.
We teamed up with Executive Producer, Capella Fahoome, and Photographer, Roy Cox to make this happen. We had 3 weeks to collect nearly 400 pairs of women’s shoes, assemble and photograph them, and then post-production work. With the permission from shoe donors, we donated approximately 300 pairs of shoes to Women Giving Back, a charity from Northern VA, who's mission is to support women and children in crisis, and build their confidence and self-esteem, by providing great quality clothing at no cost, assisted by caring and committed volunteers who offer personalized service and interaction. How incredible is that?!

OUR AMAZING CREW
Ultimately, we did not win the cover design contest, but it was just as rewarding to give back to the community and watch a simple idea make waves with a positive outcome!
